Think gorgeous turtles, amazing milk shakes and a gorgeous view of the beach and the Burj Al Arab. This is a must on a family to do list in Dubai, wether on holiday or as residents.
We took ourselves to Black tap craft burgers & shakes at the Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel on a Friday afternoon during Ramadan. This place was open for buisness as usual the only difference were the windows were blacked out.
This place gets busy, it’s popular with teens and 20 something’s but each time I’ve been I’ve also seen families with younger kids like us. Due to it being busy we had a 30 minute wait for our table. We could have waited at the bar but we chose to have a walk round the grounds outside to look at the turtles.
“The Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP) is based at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and Madinat Jumeirah and is run in collaboration with Dubai’s Wildlife Protection Office, with essential veterinary support provided by the the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory.”
A little further on from the sanctuary is the beach. We went there when it was empty and it looked breathtaking. The waters were as turquoise as you could imagine and it just looked idilic. From this point there was a great view of the Burj Al Arab.
Once our wait was over we headed to Black tap burgers for our table. There is a variety of burgers and salads on the menu but unfortunately no kids menu which I’d like to see, as the portion sizes aren’t very child friendly. If you were taking smaller kids you could split one meal between them. Then there is a shakes menu. A shake will set you back 65 dirhams which is pretty expensive as far as milkshakes go, but these things are whoppers! Again You could easily do one between two even for the grown ups!
We really enjoyed it and it’s on my list of favourite places to go to in Dubai. I give it 4.5/5 for a fun experience for the family.
